Peek-a-Boo
Little Will is practicing his standing (still a work in progress). Having an adorable baby to look and laugh at creates a little extra motivation! 4/26/2015.
Lucky
Will and Nana hang out in their matching lucky green outfits at cousin Lila's birthday party. 4/25/2015.
The Closet Floor
This is the scene most weekday mornings while Mommy and Daddy get ready for work. Cole and Will have fun playing on the floor of our closet during the whole routine. 4/23/2015.
Four Years Old!
Cole is four years old! Favorite things include: his baby brother, making up new words (including, for example, googoo guyguy ginderix--his special name for William), Legos, pretend play, reading books, Wild Kratts (a show about two animal-loving brothers and their adventures), oatmeal (every. single. day for breakfast, with cinnamon sprinkled on top--but not mixed in!), school, and playing with friends at school and in our neighborhood. Cole is curious and bright. He loves learning about new things (and asking a million questions in the process). He is creative. He invents games, builds forts, and pretends all sorts of things. Cole loves Darth Vader, even though he's never seen the movie, and he wants to have a Darth Vader-themed birthday party when he's 81. (Sure, bud, why not?) Cole is a spirit and a force. We love this kid with all of our might, and we know he's going to move mountains someday. Heck, in our hearts, he already has. 4/21/2015.
Big Boy Bike
Cole got a new (to him) bike with training wheels for his fourth birthday. Daddy found the bike on Craig's List and it came to us very well-loved. The evening before the unveiling, Mommy and Daddy spent a bunch of time washing the bike and giving it some touch-ups. Mommy had blue and black markers that seemed just perfect for filling the nicks and scratches, and they were--that is, until we took the bike into daylight, where all of the touch-ups were very clearly marker markings. But Cole didn't care one bit. He was overjoyed to have his new bike. Now time to learn! 4/19/2015.

Happy Fourth Birthday, Cole!
For Cole's fourth birthday, we celebrated with a "Robots in Outer Space" party at the Art Garage in Park Hill. It was a super fun time, complete with a robot story read by Nana, Opa and Daddy ("The Three Little Aliens and the Big, Bad Robot" by Margaret McNamara and Mark Fearing), a robot in outer space art project, dancing, and cupcakes! Cole was joined by lots of friends -- including friends from school and from our neighborhood, and they all had a blast being creative and silly. 4/18/2015.
Tubby
If I haven't mentioned this (and I probably have), William loves loves loves his tubby time. He splashes and laughs, and laughs and splashes, and makes a huge, wet mess! 4/17/2015.

Swoosh!
One of the slides at the Swigert park! Also, Cole is very good at wearing his helmet when he rides his bike, and often chooses to keep it on during play. I am pretty sure all of the other parents in the neighborhood think I'm some crazy over-protective mom who makes her kid wear his helmet 24/7! 4/12/2015.

Teammate Ninja Turtle
Cole wanted to be a Teammate Ninja Turtle. (Still hasn't seen the show, still loves them.) 4/11/2015.
Family Flex Fest
Cole and William take a moment to relax at our school's 10th birthday party! The festival was complete with face painter, bounce house, games with prizes, cookie decorating, and treats! 4/11/2015.
Family
Cole drew a picture of our family. Don't worry, William is there--he's just really, really tiny next to Cole (center). Daddy, William, Cole and Mommy. We all have smiles, belly buttons (under our shirts) and antennae. William is smiling, too, it's just hard to see. 4/8/2015.
Connect the Dots
Cole really took to Connect the Dots. Until he decided he was tired of drawing straight line after straight line. But curvy lines never seemed to give him the expected picture... 4/5/2015.
Egg Hunt
Cole, Colin, and Lila line up to show their treasure after the annual Opa and Nana Easter Egg Hunt. 4/5/2015.
Eight Months Old!
Mommy
This is Cole's first "real" picture! Mommy asked Cole if he would draw a picture of her, and this was the result! Mommy was so impressed--before this, Cole's art was very, uh, abstract. Mommy had to beg Cole not to erase it before she could take a picture. After this, Cole drew a picture of Daddy, and then a picture of our family. He then quickly took to drawing antennae on all of his subjects. Oh, and belly buttons. Always belly buttons. 4/4/2014.

Floating Branches
Cole and William joined Mommy, Daddy and the Colemans on another hike at Lair o' the Bear. We stopped on the bridge to drop a branch on one side and watch it float out the other. 3/29/2015.
Taekwondo
Cole tried taekwondo for a couple months, and just earned his first stripe. Kids can earn stripes when they learn some moves and test in front of the class to show their teachers what they remember. (They are kind of like new belts for the little ones.) Cole did awesome when he did his trial class, and did pretty well during most of the classes, but fairly quickly decided it wasn't really his thing -- at least not yet. That's ok, buddy. You have plenty of time to decide what you love. Time to try some new stuff. 3/27/2015.
Mt. Falcon
Mommy and Daddy enjoyed a lovely mid-morning hike with the Colemans on Mount Falcon. Good thing the boys stayed home with Nana and Opa -- there were too many steep drops for comfort! 3/27/2015.
